Activities

We initially bought Topnotch for the family skiing but now realize the other seasons provide even more opportunities for family fun. In the winter we ski (or board) out directly from the cabin and have access to the entire Powderhorn Mountain. There also is a shuttle available to take guests around the area.

In Spring the mountain literally melts around you. A visit to nearby Rainbow Falls gives you a clue about Mother Nature's strength as you feel the ground shaking from the power of water going over the falls. Summer brings out the area's true colors with bountiful wildflowers in pinks, blues, yellows and purples and if you're lucky maybe a sighting of black bear or wolf. The Fall fireworks of color is not to be missed; it rivals that of New England.

Small farms to visit, berry picking, local festivals, wild animal watching and just gawking at nature's scenery

Hike and bicycle in National Forests and Parks or choose rafting, kayaking or canoeing the numerous waterways

Snowboarding, downhill and cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, mushing and sleighrides for all ages

Boat, swim or just roam the beach and fill your pockets with smooth stones from Lake Superior or other local lakes
